Nick has been involved at Dunstable Tennis Club since the age of 14 when he took up tennis. He has represented the county at all levels and his country in the Dubai World Tennis Cup. His tennis knowledge was fine tuned at the famed Bollettieri Tennis Academy, where he worked with complete beginners to Davis Cup players and International Tennis Federation (ITF) world ranked players. He is DCA and United States Professional Tennis Association (USPTA) trained and looks forward to helping the club move forward and finding the stars of the future. Nick also holds a current LTA licence.
Dunstable Tennis Club Coaching Program 
Coaching at DTC is open to both members and non-members. Term time coaching runs for 3 blocks of 12 weeks. Holiday training camps offer something different for the existing player or great opportunities for those starting and new to the club. - Friday is always tournament day.
Throughout term time, coaching is split into Mini Tennis and U10 Squads, Club Development Squads, and Tournament Player Squads. In order to move out of a squad you will need to demonstrate the appropriate standard through improvements in technique, tactical awareness and attitude. We will take into account commitment, number of matches / year, results and overall fitness.

Mini Tennis
Mini Tennis Red is the start off point and is aimed at the under 8’s. The court and racquet is smaller and the ball is larger and slower moving to give the player early confidence. We have sessions aimed at beginners and for players who are starting to play tournaments and matches for the club. Sessions are Monday 6-7pm and Saturday 9-10am and 10-11am currently. We run these sessions on our 2 dedicated mini tennis courts
The next step is Mini Tennis Orange for the under 9’s. This is transferred to the proper court but the side and baselines are made shorter. The net is also slightly lower than standard. The ball is normal size but a lower compression so as not to bounce to high. Again we have various sessions during the week for starter players to more competitive players. These sessions are run Monday 5-6pm and 6-7pm and Saturday 10-11am.
Mini Tennis Green is for the under 10’s and is the final transition before using the normal yellow ball. This is played on a normal court with a slightly lower compression ball. Again beginner sessions and more competitive sessions are run during the week. They are Monday 6-7pm Thursday 5-6pm and Saturday 10-11am.
Junior Tennis
Once players have moved past 10 years old they use the normal yellow tennis balls on full size courts all the time. At DTC we have beginner, development and performance based sessions to choose from, throughout the week. There is something for everyone we hope, but please contact Nick Boys our Head Coach on 07810 832774 to discuss your individual needs.
We can also provide you with one to one coaching which will dramatically improve your game in a shorter timeframe. We have a number of coaches at the club so please speak to one of them or to Nick Boys who will be happy to help you further.
Many of our players have gone on to represent the Bedfordshire County Teams and also Great Britain. Our most committed players have also received tennis scholarships in other countries.
Competition is key to the development of our players and with this in mind, Friday 5-7pm is Matchplay day where any junior member with a rating can come and play 2 or 3 matches. Mini tennis is 5-6pm and Junior tennis is 6-7pm.
Club junior social sessions are run on Mondays 7-830pm and Saturdays 11-12pm and there are various squads running Monday to Thursday after 4-7pm.
Adult Coaching
We have various adult group sessions on Saturday afternoons 12-1pm and 1-2pm for our improver adults and one to one sessions are available on request to help you reach your highest level.
